I am a specialist property lawyer and have been with the firm since 2008. I advise many different types and sizes of business with a focus on the issues facing SMEs across a range of sectors.
I have a keen interest, and considerable experience, in advising Rural Businesses. I am a Director in the Rural Business team. In that role, I advise clients on the full range of rural property matters including: the sale, purchase and secured lending of farms, estates and commercial forestry; the creation and enforcement of title conditions; both landlord and tenant issues in agricultural leases; the property aspects of Rural Business disputes including farming partnership disputes.
I have particular expertise in diversification projects. I assist clients in structuring their businesses so as to identify, understand and manage risk and to diversify in a manner which delivers on their strategic aims. I have extensive experience in helping Rural Businesses negotiate property project contracts, including options and leases, development agreements, asset purchase/sale agreements, joint ventures and the property aspects of corporate purchase/sale agreements.
I also routinely advise on the acquisition and disposal of renewable energy projects (both pre-construction and post-construction) for EIS investment funds and provide investment-grade title reports.
Away from the office, I enjoy making the most of what the country has to offer: good walks, great places and ample eating and drinking opportunities!
