I am the Lead Partner in the Environmental & Waste Team.
I have varied and wide-ranging experience which covers all environmental issues, with a particular specialism for dealing with the waste and resources sector. I enjoy being involved in unique transactions which require a bespoke but commercial approach.
I am a Chartered Waste and Resource Manager with the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM). I also Chair the Scottish Council of CIWM, and am a member of the Scottish Committee of the UK Environmental Law Association. As well as being Accredited as a Specialist in Environmental Law by the Law Society of Scotland, I am an active member of the Law Society of Scotland Environmental Law Committee.
On the more academic side of things, I am a member of the editorial board of the highly regarded Scottish Planning & Environmental Law (SPEL) Journal as well as being a regular contributor to the journal and to other industry publications as a columnist. I also regularly present at and host seminars and conference events, in the UK and further afield, on all aspects of environmental law but particularly on issues to do with waste and resources management and policy. I am also an External Examiners with the University of Edinburgh.
Out of the office, I enjoy taking in the beautiful surroundings of North Berwick where I live with my young son, especially the beach when the sun is shining!
